How to impress a girl

It's one thing when a man looks into your eyes and says, "I never understood why a guy would go to the ends of the earth for a woman... until I met you."

It's another thing when he shows up the next day with a bucket of paint and a sprayer, ready to transform your shabby basement into a working office space. That is, after having installed all the appropriate wiring for a phone and Internet line in said office-to-be.

Words... and actions that speak louder than them.

I am grateful, if not slightly overwhelmed.

I wonder who in the world that could have been.

I for one am much more impressed with the equivalent of paint and a sprayer than I am by 2 dzen roses. (Although they're nice too).

Definitely a keeper.

You are one lucky girl! Sweet words and handy too - a combo that can't be beat.

Don't be overwhelmed, just be grateful. This is a man who literally will give the shirt off his back for his friends and think nothing of it. He treats all his friends with the same wonderful generosity and I am proud to be one of those people. Welcome to the club!

Oh definitely, better an office that flowers and mush. I married me a man like that, and never a regret. He doesn't buy me flowers, he builds me gardens!

Well and fine, but can he run? Seriously, this sounds pretty good!

I've only ever been handy with the pen so I've managed to construct a few sturdy love poems in my day. I've managed to landscape our yards pretty well too. Still, the look on my wife's face when I put up a shelf (which is the extent of my handiness) rivals a good poem.

A friend of mine once told me that if I want to impress my wife, I should rent a jackhammer, put on a T-shirt and jeans and go smash up some concrete. It worked for him. Handymen got it made. Curses!

Thankfully my wife is very accepting of the person I am, well mostly, and knows that I will never build her a castle of any sort, maybe I will buy her one someday. You're a lucky gal and I am sure well worth it.
