Hello again

Hi all,

Just a quick post to let you know I'm back. The meltdown took longer than expected to recover from, but things seem to be steadier for now. A few changes since I was last on line:

Yes, I passed the Stats class.

My one house-mate, Leah, has moved on. The new one, Gord, remains. All is good on the home front.

I'm still debating about selling the house, but I am starting to think that maybe I'll put it off for a while...

Running progresses! I am up to 7-8 km three or four times a week. This past week, I started some speed and incline training, too. So far, my knee is happy. When my knee is happy, it is much easier for the rest of me to be happy, too! The spring will hopefully have me doing some running events. I swear to God, training is the only thing that has kept me sane!

I'm back to doing yoga. I'm in a Level 1 class on Wednesdays and a Level 2 class on Saturdays. No doubt the Level 2 class will make for some interesting (as in, hilarious) postings later on. Let's just say that I've discovered that head stands make me shake with terror - which isn't so good for maintaining your balance when you're upside down. But that's a story for another day...

As of today, I have passed in a draft of my research proposal to my Ph.D. supervisor. The entire committee met in late January and after the initial meeting, I was given the go-ahead to move on to the research proposal. It was a huge hurdle and although my compulsive sense of independence is not always a good thing, when you are required to pour heart, soul AND head into a 30-40 page document on your own, in a tight time frame, such stubbornness comes in handy.

I'll try to get around to visit blogs soon. I may not be blogging as often as I was before, but I'll try to stay in touch.

I'm glad to hear that things are better for you. Especially that the running is going so well. Congratulations on getting past the first step in your proposal. I know that there are many more steps to be taken before you are done but have confidence you'll work through them all. Good to have you back.

It is wonderful to hear from you Sarah. Congratulations on the statistics class and with the proposal as well. My school work is nothing compared to what you are doing. Hopefully someday I will join you in the quest for a PhD.

I am also thrilled to hear that your running is going so well. Keep it up and I hope to hear from you whenever you get the time. Take care.
