Zooming along

Yesterday I went out for the Tuesday night speed work session with the Calgary Road Runners. I have come to look forward to Tuesday nights and I am enjoying getting to know people in the group.

Last night we did 2 x 2miles, along with a warm up and cool down. I ran hard. Nearly puked my guts out. It was most excellent.

Today I was too tired to run, but my yoga class started up again for the fall and I thoroughly enjoyed that.

The writing is coming along. I have finished a first draft of my Analysis chapter - emphasis on the "draft". But it is something to start with. I started the Discussion of the Results. I've got a basic framework for the chapter sketched out and 16 pages of notes to get me going. I am determined to have a draft ready for when I meet with Tim. I question myelf along the way, but that is part of the process, I suppose.

In general, I am working hard and enjoying every second of it.

Questioning is definitely part of the process. Probably one of the more important and significant parts of the process.

You are wise in getting a draft together before talking with your advisor. That will maximize the effectiveness of your time together.

Sounds like things are coming along. Once all my thoughts were compiled (like on your 16 pages) I always felt a bit overwhelmed at trying to organize and express them coherently (but then again my method of word processing back then was a pair of scissors and a role of Scotch tape).

A wise woman once commented on my blog, "One step at a time."

Indeed.

You are on a roll Sarah! I bet the creative juices are flowing strong. Keep up the momentum and the good work - and listen to Craig, he's a wise one.

Gotta love that wanna puke feeling you get from speed work. Good luck with the draft.

Funny, how when I was a kid, hard work was something to be avoided, like an illness. Now hard work (the kind I like, at least) is a fun challenge to meet. Cool to see that it's that way (at least the second part) for you too.

I won't be at Tuesdays until probably late October (21st?), but I'm aiming for Thursdays until then. Stick with the group; they like you :)

I agree with Karen about the hard work. Stick with it Sarah.
