Quick update

Life in a nutshell:

First week of school - Completely mental. Nuff said.

First stats class - Cancelled due to server problems. (It is an online course.) Apart from that, I am almost enjoying the class. It is my first online course and I quite like the format.

Things at the house - %^&# cold! It was 13 Celcius INSIDE the house today. I went to work doing one of the things I do best in order to warm it up - cook. (Get your head out of the gutter!) Anyway... one sirloin roast, pans and pans of roasted veggies (potatoes, parsnips, carrots and zucchini), one large pot of gravy, and an even larger pot of split pea soup later... I managed to get the thermostat up to 16 Celcius. I can live with that...

My brother is coming tomorrow to fix the furnace. Bless him!

The silver lining in all this is that I now have a snuggly new electric blanket. Mmmmmm.... warm!

Training - Progress continues with the walking program. In addition, yoga starts next week. Can't wait for that! I have taken 2 courses with the same instructor in the spring and summer and am looking forward to this one, too.

Blogging - Haven't been blogging this much this week. Still getting adjusted to the new school year. Will try to post and comment more regularly this week coming up...

Have a great week!

Hi Sarah,

Oh, dear as cold as that? God luck with this new school year, and keep up with the warm thoughts.

I didn't have any gutter thoughts?

It's chilly, alright. We keep our house at about 16C, and I've been dreaming of woodstoves!

Glad to hear everything's ticking along...

16C is chilly... good thing you can cook and have warming thoughts of your training in progress.

I saw a sign the other day. It read:

"Happy people do Yoga!"

Something to ponder... does that mean that people who are happy do Yoga, or does it mean that as a result of doing Yoga, people are happy?

I'd like to share in the pans of roasted veggies, sounds awfully good.

I like your "update" format. I might have to borrow from you...

I'm feeling the same way about blogging - I haven't been able to get to everyone in a while. I feel a little too stressed about reading and commenting, but not about posting. Oh well...

Celsius! I had to do my twisted math conversion thing, which I can successfully do in my head, up until I've had more than two martinis, so that I could get at the temp I could indentify with. And, when I did, I said, "oh, okay, that's pretty cool, like the other side of the pillow."

And, my mind wasn't in the gutter until you reminded me to put it there!

"indentify"? Is that like making an indentation in order to mark a territory? Did I just make up a new word?

Okay, no more martinis for me.

I hope you have heat by now! If not, go bake a pie. : )

Split pea soup is the ultimate. I love it. I imagine you've got heat by now...it's been pretty mild out here. The leaves are turning now...sigh. Such is life.
