Houston, we have a baby!

I just got the call that Z. had her baby boy by C-section at 2:00 a.m. this morning.

7 lbs., half an ounce. No name yet. She wants to get to know him for a couple of days first.

From all accounts, both Mom and baby are doing well.

yippee!!!! been waiting to hear how it went...

please give her my best, and thanks for keeping us all posted!!!!

J for some reason loves lemons. as did my mother, so maybe it's genetic... but my mother was also a big vodka fan, and hopefully J will stay with enjoying only the citrus fruit...

Good news, shame to end up with a C section after all the hard work. Everyone is well, that's the main thing.

Glad to hear the news. Interesting decision to hold off on naming the baby. Admirable I would say.

Sarah, as you can imagine, I've been following this story with interest. Like everyone else, I'm glad this chapter ended well, and that the next one can finally begin.

On the issue of naming, I think your friend is doing the right thing (but do they let babies leave the hospital in Canada without a name?). In Greece, names are usually withheld for a year or so (until they are given in a proper baptism) during which time the baby is just known as "baby," or, in the case of a friend of mine who still has unresolved family conflicts regarding the naming of her now almost 3-year-old daughter, "onion."

Hi Sarah,

Oh that is wonderful, and I hope mom and baby are doing well. Too bab it was a c-section I had one too, and she will be sore for a month or so but she'll be okay, and 7 and half is a nice weight for baby.

Happy birthday little boy.
